Getting Married in Eureka Springs - Eureka Springs Wedding Stories
Our Brides share their stories of getting married in Eureka Springs and their Eureka Springs weddings
"My Eureka Springs Dream Wedding Came True
A Bride's Tale of Getting Married in Eureka Springs "
I've been dreaming about it since I was a little girl: a castle on a mountain top, my "Prince Charming" and I surrounded by family and friends in an idyllic setting, people waiting on me hand and foot as if I were royalty. Oh, yes, this was my dream... and it all came true when Brian and I chose The Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs to get married.
After planning out every detail with the help of RoAnna and Misty, the wedding coordinators at The Crescent, my special day actually began the day before when Mom, Brian's mom, my sisters and bridesmaids, and I checked in and then we all went downstairs to the hotel's New Moon Spa (talk about pampering!) for facials, massages, manicures, pedicures... the works!
And while we were luxuriating in the spa, Brian and all his buds were out "roughing it" in the Ozarks and on the Buffalo River, hiking, canoeing, male bonding, with a "soft-adventure" excursion with the hotel's Arkansas Outdoor Adventures. (I told you this hotel has everything!)
That night after our rehearsal we had our rehearsal dinner downtown in the Rooftop Billiards Room at The Basin Park Hotel, sister hotel to The Crescent. What a great time! It was informal, fabulous food, a full bar, a couple of pool tables and we even got to do karaoke (but trust me, you do not want to hear my Dad sing!) What a great prelude to the big day.
Now comes the ceremony. All of our family and friends were gathered in the garden abloom with a rainbow of color. Brian and I exchanged our vows and I became Mrs. "Prince Charming."
With eyes being wiped dry, our guests moved into the Crystal Dining Room for light hors d'oeuvres while we took even more photos. Once we stopped saying, "Cheese!" we joined our guests for probably the best four-course sit-down meal I have ever eaten... soup, salad, appetizer, exquisite entrée all served by a well-groomed, friendly wait staff.
We cut the cake, had a champagne toast (Brian's best man did a great job... funny but sweet!) and then Dad and I had our dance across the hardwood floors with crystal chandeliers twinkling overhead. I'll never forget that moment.
Then the party started! We danced all night long and since everyone was staying there in the hotel, we felt safe to let our hair all the way down. Perfect ending, music, laughter, tears, hugs, cheers, to a perfect event.
I'm so glad I had my dream as a little girl. And I am so glad that my dream could and did come true.
When it comes time for you and William to plan your wedding, you really ought to check this place out.
